Our Curriculum

Orange (biblical)

Combines child development with theology. It teaches children that God made them, He loves them, and He will be their friend forever. It has themed weekly activities that cover bible stories, memorizing bible verses, and learning songs.

Heggerty (Literary)

Introduces children to phonics and literacy. Heggerty works on rhyming, letters and vowel sounds, blending letters and vowels together, introduction to syllables, and introduction to sight words.

Eureka Math

Introduces students to numbers, shapes, counting, and currency denominations. Math is done through hands-on learning and daily lesson reviews.

Second step (social emotional)

Teaches students listening skills, attentiveness, behavior management, and social skills. This curriculum also teaches children age-appropriate safety rules in both public and private settings.

Keleka Thompson Heyward

Radiant Academy Manager/ Lead Teacher

Keleka Thompson Heyward is the Childcare manager/ Lead teacher for Radiant Academy.

Keleka is native of New York City but has lived in South Carolina since 2006.

Keleka graduated from Stratford high school. Attended Valor Theological Institute where she received her certificate in biblical studies, and Waldorf University where she received her Childhood development associates.

Keleka has ten plus years of experience as a Lead Preschool teacher. She is certified in Early Childhood education, First aid and CPR. She currently attends Trident technical University where she plans to finish her bachelors degree in Early Childhood development.

Keleka serves at her local church as the youth leader and praise and worship team leader. In 2016 Keleka married her loving husband Antonio. They have no children but have been the guardians of Keleka’s younger brother Kalen since 2016. Keleka’s hobbies include cooking, singing, and journaling.
